AMADEUS Music & Art – Amadeus Project of the Children of the Fairies Supported by LEM

The AMADEUS Association of Salerno, active since 1990, promotes musical and theatrical culture through courses and activities for all ages. In recent years, the association has enthusiastically welcomed children and young people on the autism spectrum, finding in many of them an extraordinary musical talent, with attention spans, musical ear and rhythmic sense often above average.

We have developed an innovative teaching method, based on colors and characters, particularly effective for visual thinkers. This inspired us to create a structured project to enhance their artistic potential, offering spaces, tools and concrete opportunities to express themselves, integrate and grow also in the professional field.

Our initiatives

  • Adaptation of spaces: construction of soundproofed and equipped rehearsal and recording rooms.
  • Integrated musical training: courses in piano, guitar, bass, drums and more, aimed at everyone, with a view to inclusion.
  • Expressive and psychomotor workshops: for children and teenagers, with drawing and movement activities.
  • Courses for sound technicians: to offer professional skills that can be spent in the world of work.
  • Concerts and musical evenings: moments of aggregation, entertainment and enhancement of talent.
  • Creation of an autism-themed record label: to produce, record and disseminate the works made in the workshops.

Objectives:

  • To promote music as a tool for inclusion for people on the autism spectrum.
  • Develop skills, autonomy and relational and professional opportunities.
  • Contribute to cultural change, demonstrating that disability can be a resource and not a limit.
  • The Amadeus project is a path of growth, expression and future, where music becomes a bridge between worlds and possibilities.
